Celebrate your beautiful, creative and expressive self through the joy of bellydance!

It doesn't matter what shape, size or age you are, bellydance makes everyone feel great. If you're an absolute beginner looking to start dancing or an experienced bellydancer, looking to expand your repertoire and express yourself through dance, you've come to the right place. Classes are supportive, encouraging, and will keep you inspired!

You can learn a range of bellydance styles, with classes teaching teachnique, choreography and improvisation in Folkloric, Vintage, Ghawazee (of course!), Urban-Folk Baladi, and various Fusions from Folkloric, through Dubstep and into Swing.

If other commitments are keeping you from classes, or you just prefer one-on-one tuition, we also offer private lessons in our Home Studio.

Classes are held at Nellie Hall in Melba and the Gungahlin Community Centre (communities@work building). All venues have access to water, bathrooms and mirrors. Check here for street addresses and other details.

LEVELS EXPLAINED

 

Red tshirt & coin scarfBEGINNER:
Open to all levels including absolute beginners. Dancers learn core movements and simple combinations with and without finger cymbals. There is one choreography taught and an option to perform at our annual showcase.

 

 

 

 

 

Blue tshirt & zillsOPEN:
Open to all levels including absolute beginners.
These classes focus on technique, combinations and conditioning.

 

Green tshirt & zillsINTERMEDIATE: Assumed knowledge of core movements and experience with combinations.
Dancers expand on their movement repertoire and learn choreographies in various styles along with formation based group improvisation.
Blue tshirt & zillsADVANCED: Assumed perfection of core movements, experience in layering and more complex combinations. Dancers explore intricacies of various styles, further extending their technique and artistry. There are opportunities to create choreographies as a group, and to work on solos (choreographed or improvised) for performance.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

ALL STUDENTS must complete an Attendance Agreement and Medical Information Form.

NEW STUDENT Fees are due on or before the first class of term.
CONTINUING STUDENT Fees must be paid on or before Week 2 of Classes.
Payment plans and partial scholarships are available and must be arranged before term begins.

EARLY BIRD: Fees must be paid in full before the cut off date to be eligable for Early Bird enrolment. Early Bird fees are not available with PayPal registration.

LATE REGISTRATION: Students enrolling from week 3 onward are entitled to a pro-rata discount on their term fees.

TERM THREE REGISTRATIONS: We hold our Annual Showcase in Term 3. Intermediate and Advanced classes will be rehearsing during that term, and as such, those classes are closed to new enrolments. New students working at any level can join Beginner or Open Level (Drills/Technique) Classes during that term. New intermediate and advanced students might like to participate in the Spring Short Courses in the later part of the Term (after the Showcase).

MISSED CLASSES: Fees pay for your place in the class and are non-refundable. Students may attend a different class (same or lower level assuming there is space in the class) during the term of the missed class to make up for classes that have been missed due to illness or other commitments. Make Up Classes cannot be carried over to the next term. If you are likely to miss a number of classes, consider registering as a Drop In student or with a 10 Class Pass.

CANCELLED CLASSES: If a class is cancelled, students can attend a make-up class. If a make-up class is not available, a credit will be given.

Fee Schedule Variations & Deductions

Drop In Classes

Drop In (new student): $20/single class only if there is space in the class.

Drop In (current student): $15/class for students enrolled in other classes.

10 Class Pass: $190 Valid over 2 consecutive terms.

Family Registration.

When two or more students from one family are enrolled in classes, they always pay the Early Bird Rate with fees due at the regular time of Week 2 of term for re-enrolling students.

Multiple Class Registration

TWO CLASSES
$275 ($260 EB*) 1 student in 2 classes/week per 9 week term.

UNLIMITED CLASSES
$380 ($370 EB*) 1 student in 3+ classes/week per 9 week term.

BEGINNER CLASSES
Intermediate & Beyond Level Dancers can enrol in a Beginners Class at no cost if there is space available. You can secure a place with a disounted fee of $50 for the term. Please indicate when registering if you would like a "free space" or a "secured space".
